New Vista HS was the perfect choice for me! The environment is very welcoming and the community is fantastic! The relationship we are able to have with our teachers and administration makes New Vista special, I am very comfortable at school and I always have someone I trust to talk to if something is wrong. With our focus on equity, respect, and self-advocacy I have grown into a well-rounded student and person that I feel like I can be proud of. I have New Vista to thank for who I have become :).

New Vista is an incredible approach to alternative learning. The school population is small, so you get a chance to really connect one on one with your teachers, and it is evident that each teacher truly cares that you are learning and understanding the content, rather than just memorizing it for tests. As a musician, I felt like New Vista really helped and encouraged me to pursue this path, and do what I am most passionate about. The culminating projects allow you to dive deep into something that you already love, or to discover and learn about something new. New Vista really focuses on letting you choose your own path, and they have engaging classes that you are encouraged to actively participate in. New Vista helped me become a more well-rounded, creative, and insightful individual, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who feels like a traditional public school system doesn't work for them.
Pros:
Excellent teachers. I've always felt that the majority of adults in the school care about me and my success. I've gotten to know teachers well because of small class sizes.
Arts/Humanities: The student body is very artsy and creative, and the teachers in art, LA, and History are especially strong IMO.
School Culture: Cliquiness seems minimal compared to Boulder and Fairview, and it's easy to make friends. Socially New Vista is supportive and rewarding.

Cons:
Not much school spirit or sports. It could be a pro or con depending on what you are looking for.
Compared to Fairview and Boulder, classrooms have fewer resources. Also no AP/IB. Students still get into good schools (I know at least one person got into Cornell this year,) but you will need to apply yourself a bit more and look for dual enrollment opportunities with universities. Standardized testing prep could be better as well.
Clubs are minimal.
