I was forced to clean up another girl's feces off the walls or else face a silent hour of hard work (HARD, mindless, punishment). NLA Bend, OR frequently accepted girls that they were not equipped to handle and that, of course, caused immense despair for the other girls attending. NLA Bend, OR did absolutely nothing to prepare me for the "real world" (that we were not allowed to speak about), high school, etc. and I am still dealing with the emotional abuse I was subject to a decade later. I was frequently yelled at, had fingers pointed in my face for accepting another girl's apology for being rude, and similar things to that. Administration was very hands-off.
This school forces young girls to conform to rules and if not they are met with harsh consequences and would be isolated from the house not able to communicate with their peers. The education is awful you take a test and are put in a 'education group' which determines your learning speed but a 17 year old and a 13 year old would often be learning in the same group it does not prepare students for the demands of real schools and the revered therapeutic side forces girls to exploit their traumas in order to be in line with the program. Rules are unfair for example each girl is places in a clan upon entering and the entry level clan (sun clan) restricts girls from talking to peers without supervision of a staff and rooms are overcrowded with some bedrooms holding up to 10 girls.
