As a current enrolled student at New Iberia Senior High, I have nothing but good things to say. First, for having limited funds, NISH always atleast has a type of event that benefits not only its students, but the students in other schools in our district. Like this week NISH is providing a college fair to Juniors and Seniors to all local high schools. As a student I am proud to say at May 13, 2021 to call myself an alumni. New Iberia Senior High deserves any kind of profit to help it continue to provide not only a great educational system with great teachers and to help students out, free tutoring, but to call a home for its students that help raise money for them when something bad happens to them. So thank you Niche for this opportunity!

The athletic program is what I like the most about New Iberia Senior High School. I only attended the last 2 years of my high school years and I enjoyed every moment. The only thing I would change is that I did not attend my full four years! I met so many people attending New Iberia Senior High. My teammates and classmates became my brothers and sisters! I can remember getting hurt on the field my Senior year and when I cried, the team cried with me. They showed me so much love that night and the days after! A few of them even stayed to my house that weekend.

The support at New Iberia Senior High is like no other! Even the parents show so much love. There is the one parent that would purchase trophies and medals and hand them out the next week after every game. She would pick an MVP from the Friday's game. How cool is that!
New Iberia Senior High School is a school where not many people have the opportunities to go to college or a 4 year university. Since it is located in a very high crime rated city, there are many times where students feel unsafe or see many laws being broken. The city is also not the richest, so there is a shortage of teachers and opportunities. AP classes are only offered for English 3 and English 4, and even the parish is debating whether or not to take that away because they can’t afford it. Although there are some drawbacks, there are also some wonderful experiences. The culture in New Iberia is very diverse and celebrated. So even though we might not have the best opportunities education-wise, we still have many opportunities to be able to experience the different cultures and ethnicities from around the country.
