I moved there my Senior year. The teachers made the school really special. The care, instruction, and interest they took in education helped me excel in my academics. Also really loved the Drama department there! Lots of extracurricular activities that a student can involve themselves.

A challenge may be the parking and the bus system there!

I have attended New Hanover all four years of high school. I enjoyed going to school everyday, most teachers made learning fun and easy. Some were also strict and very serious. Being that I have been a STAE student for two years, this college-readiness course has prepared me for college and some things with life. Outside of the classroom I am a varsity basketball player and I'm in a few clubs, being involved in student-life kept me updated with everything going on around the school and the city. Being that I am a student athlete I was blessed to receive the opportunity to future my basketball career at the next level. My teachers and coaches were very supportive and offered me many things to stay on course to graduate. Attending New Hanover High School has been experience I'll never forget!
Hanover has been such a great school. I honestly love it. Almost all the teachers I've met have been nothing but nice to me. The bathrooms could be cleaner and use more paper towels and soap though. I have had so many great opportunities to do such different and amazing things. I thank hanover for everything that it has taught me and for making my four years of high school great! I do wish there were more pep rally though, that would've been cool. Some of the classes need new books or at least more books, cause sometimes there aren't enough for everyone in the classroom. The food could be way better but I'm just glad they finally made an option for vegetarians! I think New Hanover is a great school and I would definitely recommend going there.
