New Garden Friends School is the Triad’s only independent preschool through grade 12 school built upon the long-held standards of extraordinary Friends schools. NGFS was founded in 1971 with the goal of educating children from differing backgrounds together in a positive, affirming, and safe environment.
At New Garden Friends School, we are a community of learners. Our students experience critical thinking and experiential learning beyond the classroom. Developmentally appropriate curriculum is introduced at each level and accommodations are made to support and challenge students. We believe in teaching children the importance of service in their communities. Students are challenged to both see themselves as agents of change and to actively engage in the needs of the world around them. We learn together. We work together. We support one another.
We invite you to visit our campus, walk our halls, listen to our students, and see what a NGFS education could mean for your child.

Outdoor Education at NGFS
We are committed to the adventure, joy, and learning that travel can bring. Our students are challenged to get outside, get involved, and get moving. We take day trips, camping trips, city trips, and international trips. All students have time to play and recharge with daily outdoor breaks. Exploring and having an appreciation for the natural world is a critical part of an NGFS education.
