There is a whole application process the students and parents have to go through and only a limited space in the school because they want to keep their student to teacher ratios small: I think it's like 10:1 average. Most if not all the kids here are on track to graduate early, including me. I came from Keller High School because I suffer from migraines and mental health and so I missed school a lot. Here, you can choose to be a morning student or afternoon. I'm a morning student and I get off at 12 noon and head to work for the rest of the afternoon. Having no homework (unless you want to) at home and being self-paced, really lets me be in control of my education and actually really enjoy it. I think that if everyone knew they could go to school 4 hours a day, not have homework, and graduate early with a REGULAR k.i.s.d high school diploma, all school's would be like this. This schooling is not for everyone, but absolutely perfect for me. It's all about finding what works for you.

New Direction is an excellent alternative for students who do not do well in a traditional high school setting, or who need only a class or two to graduate. Although this is a self paced and work is done online, there are teachers available to assist and encourage.

The worst part about this school is getting the guidance counselors at the traditional high schools to do the one page of paperwork required to allow your child to enroll at New Direction.
Amazing staff!!! They truly care about their students and making a Difference in their lives. Very flexible and they are able To work with the tech schools schedule.
