I believe New Deal High School is a great school. They have been preparing me for things I need that will help me out in the future. They take things with kindness and will do anything to help you out.
I had a great learning experience and had new opportunities. I really appreciate what my teachers had taught me throughout my years at New Deal High School. They not only taught me school curriculum, they also taught me life lessons and tips for my journey into adulthood.
New Deal High School is generally more focused on sports than education. While this is sadly true, the friends and most of the teachers are unforgettable. The teachers that do care put in all of their effort and will do whatever it takes for you to learn.
New Deal High School is a small school with a great community. I have learned so much from my wonderful teachers and I would like to see my school succeed further in everything they do.
I like that its a small school and that you can have a good relationship with any of the teachers. You can always get help whenever you need it or if you struggle with a class. I would not change anything about it.
New Deal High School is a great place to attend high school due to the great atmosphere that the teachers create and the small class size. The teachers are willing to work with coaches and other staff members in order to help students who are involved in multiple extracurricular activities be successful.
New Deal is kind of a good school, but they really only care about sports and don’t help seniors with any kind of knowledge of going into college or just basic life information. They really don’t deal with bullies or actually real problems.
It is a very good school it is small and personal and all the teachers are there to actually help you.
I wish the principal was more involved in school problems and knew what was going on instead of listening to biased stories and punishing kids for stuff they did not do.
I love New Deal even though some things can be difficult. The teachers are loving and sometimes can choose favorites. But overall I loved going here and I'm going to miss all the teachers, students that I have created relationships with.
The teachers and staff are always very friendly. We are all like one big family. One thing I wish they'd do better is prepare us for life and college. Teachers always do their best to make sure you understand everything and pass their class with flying colors.
Our academics is one of the best around. We are a certified STEM, Science, Technology, Engineering and Math, campus. At the end of our eight grade year our counselor sets up our schedule in high school; no one has to go down the same education path either. Then at the end of our freshman year the school offers us the TSI so we can qualify for taking dual credit, or class that count as college and high school credit, our sophomore year. There is a large variety of dual credit classes that can be taken and if you take enough of them you can possibly get your associates degree before graduating high school.
We have many extracurricular activities including, football, track & field, basketball, baseball, softball, UIL, National Honor Society, and FCCLA. The overall involvement from parents to staff and to students is tremendous in this activities. Also at our school, we have a Flex Friday where they offer classes ranging from western dance to engineering. Flex Friday is where people such as professors or previous students come to share with us their professions and let us know how to further oyr education in that field if we are interested. These people are not paid and they volunteer their free time to educate us about their subjects.
I would consider the health and safety of students at this school is top notch. I rarely see incidents of bullying and rarely see anyone doing anything there not supposed to. Our nurse and sports medicine teacher are very good at treating kids who are sick or injured. Also this school offers a CPR class where students can get CPR certified.
We have anti-bullying classes to help but some students still do it anyways. We do have drug test randomly at school. And random Locker checks too. We have a really good nurse who gives medicine for the children who needs it. My school is safe.
We don't have after School activities, but we do have extracurricular opportunities. UIL Academics, UIL Engineering. But mot students believe these activities are nerdy.
I'm not sure that I would attend to New Deal High School because teachers and staffs are awful with patience. What makes the school unique is their UIL Academics program and Flex Classes that get some students ready for college and life after High School. MY favorite experience was going to State with the New Deal Lion Pride Band this year.
