The elementary and middle schools are some of the best in Maryland. Its form of "classical education" is unique and what makes it special. It has things like "memory period" every morning that every student attends, basically it just involves singing catchy songs and mnemonic devices that stick amazingly in small children's brains. I can still name all the countries and capitals of Scandinavia. The teachers are first rate and obviously care about their students. It's only issue is size and lack of resources. For that reason I would say it doesn't prepare students well for college, and they would probably be better of leaving for high school to attend a school with more opportunities, such as ap classes. That is what I did, though I wouldn't exchange my time at NCCS for anything and I am glad I got the opportunity to attend this special school.

New Covenant Christian School is a classical school with a rigorous curriculum. The teachers are caring toward students and gifted communicators of their area of study. In my class, there are 12 people, and we are a tightly knit group. My middle and high school experience has been blessed as a result of growing close to my classmates. New Covenant is a classical Christian school, which means that we do not learn only material and facts, we learn reasons behind them. We don't simply study books for their text, we learn about the author and their worldview and WHY they wrote what they wrote. We delve into other religions and dissect them in order to understand the truths and falsities of each. New Covenant is not just a place to learn things, it's a place to learn how to learn things on your own. They teach students how to reason for themselves so that each individual can come to their own conclusions. New Covenant has taught me a lot, and it has prepared me to learn later in life.
New Covenant Christian school is a great school for those who value the classical way of learning. With one foot in the church the other is in history, science and learning how to think for yourself with logic and rhetoric. Having been in New covenant for all my life, I can say from experience that its a place that i have grown in, both through my faith but also in my knowledge and love of learning. I am a slow learner and not the best student however that is one area where New Covenant thrives. The teachers are more than happy to work their lessons and the schedules around the struggles of any students. Yes it is small but dont let size be what you look for. If anything the small school only brings about a more loving community. I learned more than just academics in New covenant school however. I learned about how to be brave and face the real world, learning to be loyal to God and to others.
New Covenant.
