The teachers and counselors want to see you succeed and they are very helpful when you have any questions about college in general.
I liked the teachers that would also teach you tips about real life and how to apply what i learned to help me in the future. I did not regularly attend school for my freshman and sophomore year because i was homeless at the time but those were still my best academic years of high school so i think school pushed me harder to succeed. I would like to see the staff change there are teachers there that have been there for 5+ years and they only care about the paycheck.
I loved all of my teachers they all showed that they cared about their students education and successfulness. I do feel however, that it's a very average public school. While I haven't had many big issues, I will say that some people have their cliques.
New Britain High school is such an excellent school. Not only are the academics are excellent but its diversity As a Middle eastern, I feel very comfortable in this school as I do not get treated as any different from anyone else. T
There are very many classes that provide students with opportunities and steps into different career paths, the curriculum is well managed and teachers care about their students.
The most important thing about my school is all the teachers want to help students who are struggling and always have their doors open for students. There's lots of extracurricular activities and very inclusive clubs.
i've learned nothing. some teachers are good, others aren't. the classes are never really clean and there's always fights
I like how many class they offer and how involved the teachers are. They have a very go after school actives and a very good band and music program.
Teachers are fantastic and professional. Staff is polite and courteous. Security is always making sure people are safe. It is a comforting environment with the educators.
What I liked about New Britain High School is the atmosphere that was inside the school. Everyday something was going on in our school and for that I always looked forward to coming school because I didn't want to miss out on what was going on. I also enjoyed the teachers that were there. The teachers in New Britain High School were great, way better then our guidance counselors. The teachers in my opinion were very active in our lives and made sure we had the chance to make it out fine. There are always some cons no matter what school you go to, but I tried to stay positive and look forward in life and not hold back on anything.
There's not much to like about New Britain High School. They classes and resources are subpar at best. We have police officers constantly roaming the school in case any trouble breaks out, which it does. It not a very safe school environment, and because of the lack of funding ,it's not a challenging school.
I could say a couple negative things about this school but what truly disappointed me is the lack of variety in career readiness courses this school has to offer. As someone who had a career in mind and wanted to learn more about it to reassure myself, I was disappointed to find out that there were few to no classes that fit my interest. So I spent my whole high school career taking classes that I felt would not help me in the future.
My first few years I was completely lost, in more ways than one. There were few staff members who I felt truly cared about my education and well being. Its easy to feel buried and lost within the countless number of students at this school. It wasn't until my junior year that I finally met a teacher who I felt truly cared about me. Their guidance changed my outlook on school entirely.
New Britain High may not have been everything I had hoped for, but it sure did give me experiences and allowed me to meet people that I will never forget.

New Britain HighSchool provides students with amazing classes ranging from accelerated to UCONN ECE, as well as a variety of after school clubs, and extracurriculars like the Golden Hurricane Marching band. The teachers are well chosen to bring you far in knowledge as well as be a nurturing companion for those struggling. There are so many bright opportunities and futures to be pursued through New Britain High School however they do have some faults. Lots of fighting breaks out between students here, explicit behavior, and disgusting exchange between student and teachers. It is also not the cleanest school in New Britain, maybe not a janitorial Issue but rather the students themselves. This school has so much character, but it is at the stake of how their students display it.
I loved going to New Britain High because it really set me up for college. I am graduating college a semester early thanks to the opportunities the school offered. The guidance counselors and teachers love what they do and are there to support you. My favorite memories are from band, that is what makes me bleed maroon and gold for life!
The diversity and opportunities offered are plentiful at this school. There is a large offering of AP classes as well as something called ECE, which allows you to earn college credit from UCONN. The teachers there all show a genuine care for their students, albeit there isn't as good of a atmosphere. Fights are frequent.
New Britain high is a very diverse school whose ways of confronting such diversity is very welcoming. I started the school my sophomore year and I very much liked it. It has great sport teams and amazing teachers who are there for students academically and even sometimes are ears to personal problems when they are needed to be. Although the school can be academically better, it mostly depends on the seriousness of the students, as said earlier they have great teachers. One thing I would like to change about the school is the food that is served and the lack of proper, cool water. Although their sports teams are great, there is a tendency to favoring specific sports to others. For instance football and basketball are highly favored while track and soccer for instance, not so much. If I could change anything about the school, it would be that proper and good tasting food and water is provided to every student. And every sport would get the recognition they deserve.
Being i'm at a rough point in my life, my parents were arrested twice in the last 3 months and i was almost put into foster care, the social workers are extreamly supportive and have helped me receive the resources i need to become the best version of myself, and keep working on school. It can be hard to voice yourself with so many students and so little staff, I am working on my school work and trying to become motivated to want to do it. This school and its staff have a lot to do with that.
