I loved Nevada Learning Academy! I was able to do course work on my own time which made working possible. They provided wonderful tutors onsite and via phone call/webcam. The teacher's worked with me and were very understanding. When I had questions or just needed additional support, staff did not hesitate to assist me. I was able to take advanced courses to keep me engaged. They paired with the local community college to allow me to take courses for college credit. They had clubs and student government. We had prom and several social events. Also, they provided many resources for college prep. From ACT and SAT prep, to workshops with college recruits, we were all supported in finding education post-graduation. NVLA is what allowed me to successfully graduate high school. The only thing I would change is for NVLA to have more visibility. More students would benefit from this lestning environment if they knew it existed.

I am a student at NVLA. It is my first year doing online schooling and NVLA couldn't make it easier to adjust. All of the teachers are really helpful and take the time to make sure you understand something. The teachers provide many resources for students to make sure they get most, if not all, the information they need for their schoolwork. NVLA also provides countless opportunities and information to students to prepare for college like college fairs and scholarships. They also support and help you if your plan after high school isn't going to college. Overall, NVLA has is a great school that really focuses on and cares about students and their education.
Although it is tough working online without the help of teachers in a classroom environment, the teachers do their absolute best to help and work with you in times of need. The experience is stressful and the school is willing to help you destress and pass your classes with flying colors at the same time. The 14 day extension period for assignments is very helpful, especially when you're falling behind in your classes. There are some teachers who are not good at responding quick enough or helping out completely, but they do try their best. Just getting through the year with passing grades and heading towards the gateway of college is their goal to help you towards.
