I love the family atmosphere at Neshaminy. I went all four years, 9th-12th grade. Tragedy struck when a boy in the grade below me committed suicide in January of my Junior year. His older brother was in my grade, and another one of their brothers, the year ahead of me. It was amazing how close the Neshaminy community became and rallied behind the family of the victim. That's the thing about Neshaminy, you get a great education, school spirit atmosphere, and a family all in one. I couldn't have asked for a better place to spend my late teen years. Football games bring out alumni, families, and students alike, with a powerhouse team every year! Gym Night is another thing that brings everyone together for a fun filled competitive weekend. Neshaminy is home to me, and I will forever be grateful I had the opportunity to be a true part of Redskin Nation. Go Blue, and Go Skin's!
The best thing about Neshaminy High School has to be the class offerings. They offer a large variety of AP courses from Robotics to Microeconomics. The teacher here are encouraging in trying to get you ahead and to make the most out of your high school experience. This High School also offers many different after school activities, from Field Hockey to Track to Swimming. The major flaw of this High School is that it is overcrowded. Going from class to class, you are swarmed by students. Expect to stuck shoulder to shoulder as you try to squirm your way to class.
Neshaminy High School is like any other high school in some ways. There are the occasional fights, careless students, and even careless teachers that makeup the community. However, they make up a very small minority. I believe that education all starts from the top and works it way down. Neshaminy definitely meets my standards of superior learning. Principles are very engaged in students' lives. They roam the hallways and talk to students simply to ask about their day. From them, the guidance counselors learn to be involved as well. They are on the look out for students who look like they need help- whether it be with school or personal issues. From there, the teachers and janitors and even miscellaneous staff members work every day with a passion to help build students up to achieve greatness. My school is unique because it lives by the code "If you act like adults, we will treat you like adults." My high school endorses independence and responsibility. There are consequences for mistakes made, but if you show excellence you will be praised and supported throughout the community.
