This school is good for the introverted-type that may be overwhelmed by huge public schools and is interested in pursuing arts. Half of my classmates are not pursuing careers in the arts, but they demonstrate an impressive set of talents and creativity here in the school. I find the school culture of my class to be more open-minded and creative, and students are encouraged to express themselves through the many elective classes offered. The teachers and faculty are incredibly nice and easy to get along with. The school is small and the lack of sports is a downside, but for the most part I've been able to overlook this.

Natomas Charter School is accepting to people of all backgrounds, religions, and sexualities. The teachers at all of NCS's academies come to school every day with a love of teaching. The arts are incorporated into nearly every activity at school, and many of the clubs on campus focus on inclusion. While there aren't many higher level or AP classes offered at the Natomas Charter School high schools, students still find themselves challenged with the curriculum placed by their teachers and the standards put on by the administration.
I have been a student at Natomas Charter School since 6th grade, and I am now about to graduate as a senior. My experience at this school has had its ups and downs, like most schools, but it was a bit different for me because the school is so small. I know just about everyone in my grade, and I have grown with many of them since 6th grade. Because of this, I have had many of the same friends since middle school, and many students I know, including myself, have fallen into a comfortable routine. I have felt discontent a number of times in middle school and the early years of high school because my school was a but different than others, as this school was focused on performing arts rather than sports. I was sometimes embarrassed by the fact that we had rallies for musicals instead of games, but as I got older I grew to love this fact and embrace how weird it was. Natomas Charter School has given me a unique yet comfortable experience throughout my 6 years of attendance.
