The environment at Natomas Charter School is truly like no other. I have the opportunity to integrate my love for art in dance, vocal, and visual arts with my academics. All of the students and teachers are very supportive and open minded. Everything at this school truly has a meaningful purpose, from the academic curriculum, extra curricular opportunities, and so much more! Attending Natomas Charter School is one of the best choices I have ever made.
Great community with plenty of exploration pathways. The PFAA program offfers a variety of arts classes and is well funded. You can learn dance, music, theater, digital arts, and visual arts. I wish the school had stronger academics. We are offered only 1 AP class for all four years of high school and 2 honors classes (not including the 2 honors art classes we have). There are also no official school sports teams.
Natomas Charter School has a population of around four hundred high school students. This allows the relationships between the students and the teachers to become more intimate and meaningful where each person recognizes every face on campus. The school also focuses on arts which allows students to explore an art form and progress through the levels throughout their four years. However, the schools academics are limited regarding mathematics and science. As a student intrigued in mathematics and science, I felt limited on what I could learn and explore. Offering only three science classes and only two Advance Placement math classes. After completing all of them in my junior year, I had to reside to classes outside of the school. Natomas Charter Schools prides themselves in their diversity and strength in unity, but lack the academics to allow their students to excel in certain subjects.
