Natomas Charter School has provided a unique environment for students to further their knowledge and expand their creative side. Having taken more than a dozen art classes, I have been able to find myself as a visual artists with the help of amazing art teachers. Natomas Charter School also has outstanding academics, and supportive teachers who are willing to spend long hours going over assignments and creating study sessions to help students succeed. We have created a tight-knit community where every feels welcome and loved by the people around them. The things I wish we could improve on as a community would be the student population and the lack of sports. I believe that if Natomas Charter School grew in size and expanded its programs to allow sports, the student body would benefit and it would allow for more students to enjoy the acceptance and love Natomas Charter School has to offer.

At Natomas Charter School, my teachers have been able to teach my core classes while intertwining the arts with college-preparatory standards. I love the small school environment and the teachers' passion for the subjects they teach because this truly inspires the students to be as passionate in their own work. I do wish they offered more AP classes because as a high schooler, I have had to simultaneously take college classes alongside of the high school courses that I am taking because my schools fail to offer them. In taking these courses, I have gained a level of respect for my schooling because they have completely prepared me for my future and I am forever grateful for that.
I had a love/hate relationship with this school. For my first 4 years, I wanted to switch schools. I had been the "talented" one in my old schools, and suddenly I was surrounded by other kids who had also been the talented ones...and they were better than me. I felt like I had disappeared into a muddle. But then I discovered Stagecraft and the world of being on a tech crew. It's an entirely different sector of Charter, and I was good at it. Everyone I became friends with was passionate about it, too.
