Nativity has prepared me for college to the fullest extent. The vital skill that Nativity has helped me improve the most is my writing. I have mastered many other academic skills and techniques that will benefit me in a college classroom including: reading comprehension, independent study skills, annotating and literary analysis, and the ability to combine concepts from different areas of study and apply them. The teachers and courses have given me a greater understanding over all areas of study, especially Biology which I plan to major in. In addition to academic skills, the exchange student program has exposed me to cultural diversity from many other countries. Different field trips have allowed me to have contact with respected leaders of many different organizations. I have also gotten to see different historical places such as the locations of the Battle of Gettysburg and the National Holocaust Museum. If I were to improve Nativity in any aspect, I would like to add more clubs.
My experience at Nativity BVM High School has been amazing. This particular school has allowed me to not only grow in my faith, but also give me the tools needed for college. Private schools, I feel, is more personal than public. Nativity in particular has special events, such as spirit day and picnics, where the whole student body bonds and has fun. Also, Nativity allowed me to build a "family" away from home. I would have never met my amazing and supportive teachers, coaches, and friends if this school didn't exist. Nativity also, has given me the best athletic opportunity. It allowed me to play varsity for four years in two sports, and be the key player during our volleyball run to the Class A State Championship game. Overall, being a student at Nativity BVM has been a wonderful experience and I wouldn't have traded it for the world.
I started at Nativity my freshman year. I came from an environment where I wasn't getting the academic, athletic, or extracurricular stimulation that I needed as a student. Now, I'm thriving due to the switch from a public to a private school. Nativity offered me the chance to play the sport I always loved, which is soccer, and got me to expand outside my comfort zone to playing softball as well. We are a family at Nativity, and I never had that type of connection with my peers before
