I've had a variety of different experiences at NACA. I got along with most of my classmates, and communicated well with my teachers. I didn't struggle at that school academically, but still there are many things that I think could be improved. The school has a great sense of community and diversity. Most students get a long and so do the teachers, however, I think that the academics could be better. There aren't enough resources to teach kids at all levels, there were many times when I didn't always feel challenged enough. But, the school does what it can. Another major thing that I think can be improved is the sports and athletics. We only have four sports, no facilities, and hardly any equipment. I think that this school really needs to change it's mindset when it comes to sports, because if they held sports as high as they do academics, so many more kids would well in school and stay out of trouble because they would have something to look forward to and something to motivate them.

I chose to go to the Native American Community Academy because I loved how they involved my Native American culture in our everyday school life. That was something special that I couldn't get from a regular public school. Other than the culture, the academic was pretty standard. They didn't have many Advanced Placement classes so there were mainly regular courses.
I’ve attending Native American Community Academy from 6-12 and it was a good experience, culture and traditional practices are a big part of this school, college preparation is good but however for when I was a senior my advisor had favorites and tended to leave some people behind, but she no longer works there so I think it would be more improved now on. The class sizes are small and since grade are kind of a small group everyone knows each other and can even get the sense of a second family. This is my experience I’m sure it’s different for others.
