Despite the lack of diversity, students, teachers, and staff members are very welcoming. When I transferred to Napa High School, I was quite anxious because I needed to adapt to a new environment, meet new people, learn a different type of culture, basically learn in a very different environment from where I was from. I transferred to NHS during my Senior Year. I found it hard to adjust at first but I enjoyed my stay. It’s not really as bad as I thought my last year in high school would be. I’m very grateful to all the teachers and friends that I met in NHS.

My experience at Napa High has been a rollercoaster of emotions and learning because of all of the opportunities for students to show their independence. As a senior, I have learned in these four years a lot about time management, social relationships, budgeting, prioritizing and communication. I have to give some of the credit to my parents, friends and family about my individual development, but high school has not stopped me from learning about myself, either. It has been a home to grow without those close people in my life, and try to figure things out on my own, and for that I am very grateful for my school.
I had been very active throughout my high school career. I participated in sports and met a lot of great, positive people because of it. I had healthy friendships as I progressed throughout the years and was able to spend quality time with those I truly cared about. Personally, my high school experience was fantastic. I took over leadership positions in clubs. The administration and staff were always nice and helpful, the students definitely varied in character, but overall I had a very good time. I would like to see the school generate a better student culture, participation in school activities such as clubs, sports, and events have been historically low and I wish that there was some way to revitalize the community here at Napa High.
