I love the variety of opportunity there was at Myers Park High. I was a leader in DREAM Team and Unified Champions and played 2 sports! Another opportunity that I think was most beneficial for me going into a university was the dual enrollment offered through CPCC. I would love to see more classes offered and make it more advertised to students because many aren’t informed about it! Despite my wonderful classmates and teachers, I did have a couple of scares with students having a gun on campus. I love how the school took action to install detectors and hope they continue to take safety of the students seriously.
I have attended Myers Park High School since freshman year and I am now a senior. Overall, I have enjoyed my time at Myers Park. My freshmen and sophomore years were good, but my junior year and senior year thus far have been much better. As a participant of the IB program, I have gotten a much better sense of community at Myers Park which is important as the school is so large. I have gotten to know my teachers, and fellow students. Aside from strong academics, Myers Park has a ton of clubs and other extracurriculars to offer. At Myers Park, there is a club for everyone! Additionally, all of our sports teams are strong, and attending school games is a lot of fun as lots of students get involved in school spirit!
It’s my 3rd year at Myers Park High School. I’ve met great people, mentors, teachers, and students there. I’m currently in the JROTC program and I’m the executive officer in my Junior year, which is nearly impossible yet I have done so through my hard work and dedication to my country, school, and program. I’ve learned to be a great leader, teacher, mentor, and student through the help of my peers, instructors, teachers, parents and more! I graduated my sophomore year with a 4.1 GPA and looking to at least increase it to a 4.5 GPA. I am a hard and great worker and leader by nature, I love to work for my country and for others to help those in need and to render my service to the country. After high school, I plan to go to USMA (U.S. Military Academy) at West Point, I am looking forward to extended my career and become a general in the army.
