Beginning my freshman year I was excited to attend Mount Tahoma High school. I had heard of so many negative things about the school but those rumors were soon forgotten as I stepped foot inside and got a glimpse of our school spirit. Everybody seemed to enjoy our school and had so much pride and spirit, especially for assemblies when everyone was together. Along with the spirit there is alot of diversity. Walking through the halls of Mt.T is pleasing to the eyes being that there is so much color, diversity, different cultures and so much more!
Although our pride and spirit was great as I was a freshman, it has gone down massively since then. The under classmen of Mount Tahoma today do not seem as excited as I and many other students of my class were when we were in their shoes. Due to their lack of excitement and eagerness our school spirit has decreased and this is discouraging. I hope that one day I will see that future students can become as proud of their school as I once was.

What I enjoy about mount tahoma high school is the diversity and the range of classes I'm able to choose from with quite a few wonderful staff. There are also alot of clubs to choose from like knowkedgebowl club which I'm a part of and hip hop club, gamers club and many more. I very involved in after school club activities including upwardbound. What I would like to see change though is the technique that some teachers use because it doesn't work for everyone and every student needs to learn their own way, I would also like to add a few classes to the school like drivers Ed and a college readiness class because I believe these two classes would benefit alot of students especially since most kids at our school can't afford drivers Ed on their own and the college readiness class will benefit all seniors when applying for colleges and also the lower classmen for when it's their senior year
I liked how Mount Tahoma has a good running start program that covers your financial aid for a community college, and it has great sports and clubs. It also has great teachers and good resources. This school provides many resources for scholarships and financial assistance as well as needing help to write a personal statement for a specific college. It offers great opportunities for students to visit certain college campuses. One thing that this school could change is to maybe improve their quality of food and to better prepare students for college. It was a great experience overall especially taking college level classes while attending high school.
