Mt Spokane High School is a great public high school to attend in the pacific northwest. I've attended this school for 3 years, almost starting my 4th. Our sports teams are incredible, especially this year. We are state champs in slowpitch softball(which is what I play), girls volleyball, wrestling, and individuals in track and field. Along with athletics, Mt Spokane has a great music program as well. Our music department recently traveled to Anaheim for a competition, and we brought home the sweepstakes award!

Upon moving from the small, Stevens County town of Chewelah, WA I found my family's move to the Mead School District to be an almost exact fulfillment of what we were looking for. Community; one of a positive student, parent, staff, and alumni culture, Academics; a standard of excellence, but one of personal attention, growth mindset, and enthusiasm rather than that of mere academic prestige, and Athletics; a culture of perseverance, competition, and camaraderie all the same. A graduate as of 2016, I found my four years attending Mount Spokane to be enriching both academically, socially, and athletically all the same. Quite frankly, many of my closest friends to date were those that I met while attending high school here, and I still am in close communication with a handful of my former teachers. Dignity, Class, and Respect: the Wildcat way!
The atmosphere at Mt Spokane excels education and relationships with the community through student life and extracurricular activity. The teachers at Mt Spokane respecting helping every student to succeed. In a school abolishing apathy, the staff's focus is for the success of the kids educationally and morally. Each teacher builds a student to succeed in any aspect of life, including our new career and college counselor, a very useful tool to future readiness and a huge highlight to the success rate of Senior students. Very rarely though at Mt. Spokane is any unsafe behaviors witnessed, instead the Freshman are treated by the Seniors like one of their own. At Mt Spokane the student body is very supportive of school spirit and the state-ranked athletics at our school. As a whole, this school tries to out do any other school in the Spokane and Eastern Washington region, and I definitely agree. Every aspect of a great school defines Mt Spokane. Go Cats!
