Mt. Everest Academy is an exceptional school that offers a unique learning experience for each student. The teachers and faculty at Mt. Everest are very caring and truly look out for the students best interest. Being that Mt. Everest Academy is an alternative, independent study school, working in that environment provides the students with better time management and communication skills than at your typical high school. In a way you get that college experience of having different classes on different days and times; having to balance your class time, homework, and extracurricular schedules is all a part of it. That might seem intimidating to some but fortunately you still have the guidance and help from teachers and counselor who will help you make the best decisions for your goals and needs. At Mt. Everest Academy, you have the opportunity to make a connection with each of your teachers, which adds to the overall experience. Enroll at Mt. Everest Academy, you won’t regret it!

The school is excellent. The teachers care about the students and always available for help. The principal is very enthusiastic and efficient. Students are well behaved, and parents are involved in the school, especially Elementary and Middle. The settings allow the kids to have time to pursue their talents and passion at a high level, sports, music, theater, etc without neglecting academics. Unlike “regular” public schools, the school offers a lot of extracurricular activities done by parents or teachers . This is the proof that with good management, great staff and great teachers, you can do a lot on a shoestring budget, unlike the other SD District schools. They are getting results in local, state and national science fairs. Students also are getting awards in high level sports, music and other competitions. Our daughter started at 7th grde and never wanted to leave until she graduated from high school. She was accepted to several top colleges across the country.
Great school and great teachers and staff who are passionate about what they do. People don't quite realize that an independent study environment is actually closer to the college style than public school or homeschool. This school helped elevate me and helped me establish better time management skills that I was able to use in college!
