Mountain View High School has a lot of opportunity. The school has multiple AP and Honors Classes to choose from. They also have a dual enrollment program. The school offers multiple sports including football, basketball, swim, tennis, cheer, and dance. The school has every club you can think of! They have community service clubs, academic clubs, environment club, mental health club, and robotics. The teachers are mostly great and are genuinely intreasted in your child's success. Every School has its downs though. The counselors aren't that great. They provide minimal help when it comes to applying for colleges. The school also has multiple fights in a year. The teachers and staff immediately break it up and punish the people accordingly. The dress code at MVHS also has some issues. The idea is still for girls to cover up in order to not "distract" the boys. The school cafteria food isn't the best. The school does have two stories that provide good snacks and food, but are pricey.
Mountain View High School is such an accepting space for students with all different backgrounds. The school does an exceptional job with providing the proper care for all students when it comes to academics. Every teach within their departments are very well educated in the content and do their best to help their students excel. From the custodians to the administrators, Mountain View High School has chosen their staff with genuine care. As for school spirit, Mountain View is open to giving their students the personal freedom to join and to create their own clubs and activities. With such expression allowed, Mountain View exists as a school with culture and spirit.
Mountain View High School is a great place, however, fights are common and the upcoming changes make little sense. The school has tried to solve the fighting and other behavioral issues with a point system, but receiving points is inconsistent and the rewards are nonexistent. They also plan to lengthen the time between classes, and school will start 10 minutes earlier to account for this. Lunches won't be their own dedicated period anymore, and students will go to lunch, interrupting and shortening one of their classes. The classes being offered are also limited.
