My two daughters attended Mountain View Academy all four years. They found the academics to be strong and the teachers great. Both daughters attended college and performed at the top of their college classes as they were well prepared by the teachers at MVA. Beyond good academics they were taught a strong work ethic, organizational skills and genuine care for others. I highly recommend MVA to college bound teens.
Review Mountain View Academy
Most of the teachers are good and honest people, but they are horrible at teaching. Many of them move at a snail's pace for me, but they are at regular speed for the lower-than-average students. They try to compensate too much for the struggling student, I would say. Moreover, there are many children in honors and AP classes that aren't fit for the fast-paced life that comes with extra courses. I strongly believe that most of the students in my grade will not excel in their post-high school lives. They aren't pushed to their limits, and they haven't had a real taste for what the work load will look like in real life. Also, many of the teachers are well-informed and filled with knowledge, but again, they can't teach. Either the words are too big to understand, or the teaching methods are outdated, or the classwork is sloppy.
I was involved in flag foot ball, which was super duper fun! It does takes couple hours after school but if a person could manage time wisely, they can do it! I was also a class secretary and religious vice president for the student association. I had fun being part of the class office and planning events.
