Most of the teachers are good and honest people, but they are horrible at teaching. Many of them move at a snail's pace for me, but they are at regular speed for the lower-than-average students. They try to compensate too much for the struggling student, I would say. Moreover, there are many children in honors and AP classes that aren't fit for the fast-paced life that comes with extra courses. I strongly believe that most of the students in my grade will not excel in their post-high school lives. They aren't pushed to their limits, and they haven't had a real taste for what the work load will look like in real life. Also, many of the teachers are well-informed and filled with knowledge, but again, they can't teach. Either the words are too big to understand, or the teaching methods are outdated, or the classwork is sloppy.
I was involved in flag foot ball, which was super duper fun! It does takes couple hours after school but if a person could manage time wisely, they can do it! I was also a class secretary and religious vice president for the student association. I had fun being part of the class office and planning events.
I had a good first two years, and then when I began to understand and to gain more friends, the pressures of high school seemed to weigh down on my shoulders. Many people started coming to me for deep and personal information, and I would give my opinions about certain things, only to find out what I said hurt someone else. Another thing that I learned was that I'm 100% ready to move on with my life. I contemplated taking the GED so I didn't have to go back to the immature high school filled with drama. I was ready to grow up again, and I still have those feelings, and I hope and pray that they don't lead to mental diseases, because that is what I fear. If I could do it all over, I would do some things differently, and possibly, one of those things would be choose a different school.
