I am more than impressed with the curriculum and the teachers. I love the mix of independent study and regular school days. My daughter who is 9 is already learning chemistry and loving it! We are able to have a lot of 1 on 1 time for projects, essays, and lessons. Huge difference from traditional school. The classes are small and the teachers are easy always available for questions. I wish I had started MVA sooner.

This is a great high school for students who desire an alternative schedule. Campus classes are two days per week, for example: Tues/Thurs, Wed/Fri. There is also online courses and an independent study program. An advising teacher provides guidance to students. The campus also houses elementary students in one wing and some Palomar College courses in another wing of the campus. Administration and faculty care about the students.
I adore Mountain Valley Academy. The culture there is amazing, and you can tell that the teachers care about the students. There is almost no bullying, the class sizes are small, and the program is set up like a college. We meet with our teachers of a given class 1-2 times per week for about an hour each time. That time is used effectively, and we do our homework and classwork at home so that in class we can have discussions and socratic debates.
