A school is a wonderful place; fortunate are people who get opportunity and facilities to attend school. Schools abound in all advanced and developing countries. India also has all types of schools. It appears as if schooling in our country has kind of become hackneyed and monotonous. An urgent need to improve school life is being felt by all.

The change that will improve school life is the change of attitude. All people involved in schooling and education should improve schooling from academic mode to practical application and skill mode. Learning quality, objectives, and technique must change. My school doesn't offer much extra curricular or after school tutoring sessions so students are often bored

During my time at MVHS, I was exposed to lots of things. Most of which have prepared me to deal with different types of people in this world. My school was very diverse and lots of students came from poor or middle-class families. Often times there were conflicts with the school finances, race, religion, disability etc. Lots of people would describe this school as horrible due to the large amounts of fights and altercations that occurred. However, for me, the best part of my high school experience here was the sports programs. The sports kept me motivated to excel in school as well as build lots of long-lasting relationships. What I wish would change about this school is the education. Most books are outdated, the labs are not fully equipped with enough supplies or models for students to use. Also, there are not enough classes to cater to non-traditional school subjects. All in all, I would rate my experience a three out of five.
Mount Vernon High School is home of the Knights. The championship basketball team. My experience with Mount Vernon High school was a great one and it'll truly be missed when I graduate. There's so many opportunities given to students for their success. It's what the student makes of it. Mount Vernon High school has friendly teachers and security, making it feel like another family. The work is challenging enough to strengthen our minds allowing us to develop critical thinking skills. Although Mount Vernon High school is excellent regarding academics, sports and relationships there is one thing I wish I could change. The violence that occurs often is something that needs to end soon. Students having to walk through metal detectors and be patted down is something no school should have to do. This is too much of a good school to have a reputation of violence.
