What I admire most about MTS is how the school successfully balances and embraces its core traditions of fostering kindness, integrity, respect, and fairness, with its forward-thinking teaching methodologies. This philosophy distinguishes not only what MTS teaches in its forward-thinking STEM program, but what type of advanced techniques and tools it uses in its teaching, such as social-emotional learning. And through this marriage of core traditions with advanced teaching techniques, the school has fostered a respectful culture where kids become critical thinkers, explore boundaries, and take safe academic risks.

We live in Mill Valley and send our kids to an independent school. The main reason we do this is for the small class size and individual attention that they receive. Every teacher at the school knows every member of my family - including the family dog! The teachers teach what they love. My two children love going to school and the bond they have with their teachers.
Our experience at Mount Tam school has been nothing but outstanding. Our daughter runs to get on the bus each day, and just as excited to get off the bus to share all the wonderful experiences through her day. The mixture of arts, and academics is a perfect match. The student teacher ratio really gives each teacher a way to reach each student individually where they are. We are so happy we found a school with such focus and passion for education, tradition and community.
