I went to Mount Saint Joseph Academy for the purpose of being prepared to apply to colleges and to be ready for college-level classes. The classes are good, even if the administration can be difficult to deal with, leading the students to do much of the college application process without much help.
While the academics did indeed challenge me, the school's culture also caused more unexpected challenges. As it is a Catholic school students are required to go to Mass and to take religion classes, but some of the girls fail to follow the Catholic teachings and can be cruel. I tend to compare it to Mean Girls.
Mount Saint Joseph Academy fulfilled its purpose for me but it was ultimately not the best place to be. I'd recommend it for the academics but would also encourage applicants to think about what they want for school culture, particularly when it comes to religion and the other girls attending the school.

Mount Saint Joseph Academy is very focused on preparing young women for college. They do this by providing a very intense curriculum. This creates a very stressful and difficult society for the students who constantly feel overwhelmed and overworked by the teachers. They do not offer much help if you are not doing well at the school and only care if something is seriously wrong. The teachers are not your friends, and your classmates are your constant competition. This is a cutthroat environment which breeds jealous, insecure, and ruthless young women. This is not a place to thrive or fall in love with education.
The school's facilities are just amazing - its picturesque interior, state of the art classrooms, inhouse robotics wing, athletic fields. The academic are superior with this year many national merit contenders. Many schools claim to have great clubs - few do - but the Mount can be really proud of so many great clubs. The Mount is very, very strong in the sciences - AP Calculus and AP Psychics classes are just amazing. No wonder so many students are accepted to outstanding colleges.
