I joined Mount as a sophomore. Even before I walked in on the first day, I already felt welcomed into the Mount community. Staff and students are welcoming and approachable. The student body is tight-knit and the staff is passionate about their jobs. You will never go a few steps in the hallways without hearing greetings from teachers standing outside their classrooms. The guidance department is always open for students, whether it' an issue with school or something personal. I play the flute in the band and am part of various other music groups. I can attest that the music department is amazing and gives its students countless unique opportunities. Also being on the volleyball team and writing for the school newspaper, it is safe to say it is easy to find a group at Mount, no matter your preferences.

I have gone to Mount Saint Charles since I was in 7th grade, and no I’m currently a graduating senior. For the past 6 years I’ve had many different teachers throughout one school year and to the next leave of schooling. Each year this school gives you the opportunity to challenged your self in different classes to make you a better person, and be ready for college. After attending this school I feel as though I know a little bit more information I’m some areas because of Mount. The relationship I have made with no only staff and teachers, but my friend is speechless. Everyone in my graduating class knows each and everyone of us by name in our grade. The connection we have is like a brother and sister type. We are always there for one another and it’s a bond that will never be broken. Class of 2020 has been chanced with difficult battles but us sticking together only makes us strong.
The stress level... unreal. I understand that with a private school comes more work and pressure, but sometimes it's way over the line. I cry myself to sleep sometimes. I have a lot of teachers this year who haven't been the greatest. There have also been a lot of weird incidents with very VERY close students and teachers... I feel uncomfortable sometimes. I also feel like I am being babied. Teachers and councilors are always all over you and your work. I don't feel like I have a lot of independence. They also have lied about the student to teacher ratio. My English class has 25 kids in it! The food has also gotten progressively worse over the years. The lunch ladies are amazing and wicked nice, but if you end up having fourth lunch, you get no food. You pretty much get the scraps.
