Mount Madonna School Reviews

One MMS graduate at Cal Poly SLO and one in the high school. This school is empowering, thoughtful and healthy both body and mind. Students and teachers are interested and given the freedom to set interesting curriculum. Compassion is key to education, from local events to international travel.

It was a great school to go to for first through fifth grade. The playgrounds are great. The teachers sometimes take the kids on hikes in the forest that surrounds the school. All the students were friends, but there is always drama when you're stuck with the same 20 (give or take) kids all year. Kids can get sick of each other. It is very isolated. It really is a community there, that happens to have a school in the middle of it.Everyone knows everyone. Sixth graders are friends with the eleventh graders, people who live there know the students. Each grade has less than thirty kids in it. One year, the senior class had only six kids. The school is so small that each graduate gets their own speech at graduation. The opportunities are amazing. Juniors and seniors get to go to either India or Africa, etc. They put on about three plays every year with amazing props and effects. Each student participates. It really was an amazing experience.
