Mount Alvernia High School Reviews
Rating 4.18 out of 5 38 reviews
Mount Alvernia was a beautiful community full of people who love what they are doing! The atmosphere of the community was warming and beyond friendly. The involvement between the students, parents, teachers and alums made the Mount Alvernia experience even better, everyone wanted to participate. The community is really tightknit. Not to add, a beautiful campus.
I had a great experience at Mount Alvernia High School and would make the same decision to go here all over again! The school is small and the environment is very homey, and the teachers know the students well and it is easy to fit in and feel comfortable, even for kids who might see themselves as more of the quiet type. The education is very good, the only thing that is not amazing is the lack of AP classes.
Mount Alvernia has a good concept however everything is half effort. Administration is lazy, disrespectful and unprofessional. Rules are not followed and punishments are nonexistent. They turn a blind eye to any issues. The school is very expensive and very little changes are being done. Teachers are not stable, meaning more than 3 teacher leave every year. However, some teachers are the best I've ever had and have really helped me succeed in my junior and senior year of high school. Academics are sugar coated with very little AP and schedule options, which is a huge disadvantage to students. Overall, major improvements need to be done in many different areas but if these changes were implemented, the school and students could really succeed.
