Since 1982, Mounds Park Academy has engaged students in a rigorous college-preparatory experience that inspires. Our PreK-12 academic program is demanding, but not draining, and goes far beyond memorization. Students are challenged to apply their understanding to stir the human spirit, stand for justice, and shake the world. Extraordinary access to the latest technology allows them to transform the wildness of their imagination into inspiration for others. Students are encouraged to question the answers and by doing so, they find confidence in their voices and are ready and willing to speak.

Our family unexpectedly found ourselves seeking a private school for our children last year. We were hesitant to start an independent school search as we were concerned the atmosphere would feel elitist and stray from our down-to-earth values. We were blown away by MPA, and our concerns were left at the door. MPA is the most inviting and warm environment, with the perfect blend of challenging academics and a nurturing approach. Once starting the school year, our children were immediately seen as a part of the community and valued for their strengths while the fantastic teachers honed in on their growth areas. We are so fortunate for MPA and have not looked back since enrolling. We can not recommend MPA enough!

Review Mounds Park Academy

I really like the community at MPA; I have a great group of friends and supportive teachers who are willing to help me with my assignments outside of their class. Aside from the classes, MPA offers students the opportunity to participate in many different activities. As students, not all of us know what we want to do as a career, or what our passions are. However, the ability to try so many extracurriculars allows us to find our passions. For example, I joined the debate team freshman year, which is an activity that I never thought I would try. I also participate on the volleyball team and in the orchestra at MPA. I would encourage anyone interested in MPA to visit and see firsthand the wonderful opportunities it offers!

The best thing I love MPA is the close knit community that feels like a family. All my teachers want to get to know me on a personal level and want to know how to specifically help me so I succeed. I always feel like I have the support I need from staff and even other resources from fellow students. There is a close bond in the upper school which makes sports and clubs much more fun! There is a very inclusive and welcoming perspective within the school. There are clubs and activities for everyone and even the freedom to start your own club based on your interests. Academic wise, I feel as though what i'm learning in one subject will overlap in multiple other subjects. I really appreciate this method of learning as it allows me to have a deeper understanding and multiple perspectives of a topic. Even as a first year student I highly recommend MPA to anyone looking for a friendly school environment that will also push you to success.
