I am very blessed to be able to study in the Morton School District, the high school specifically. There are endless amounts of amazing programs offered at the high school, I am involved heavily in the fine arts side of things and the staff and students couldn’t be anymore amazing! We have an amazing staff at MHS full of very kind teachers who you can tell want to see the students succeed. The counselors in the office here at MHS, have helped all the students since the moment they stepped foot in the door and they even help you create a four year plan to help ensure that you stay on track for your life/career goals. The school is very clean and safe and I am so happy to be a student here.
Overall my experience at MHS has been rather positive. I entered high school as a nervous kid who had gone to the same private school his whole life. The only reason I acclimated as well as I did was because of the incredible people on the cross country team. Some of my teammates became my closest friends that I've spent the past three years of my life with. The cross country program is just one example of the best part of this school: the people. The teachers are always there to support you; they talk with you, give you advice, and help you however you need. You always know someone will have your back.
I believe MHS's main failure has been preparing you for your life early on. Little things are done like career matching with your personality, but you are never shown what your opportunities really may be or what you can do to get a jump start. Very few freshmen care about college prep, but I believe that's because they aren't given any reason to, which MHS has failed to provide.

My experience at Morton High School has been amazing. You will find that the administration along with faculty and staff welcome you in with opening hands and wish you the best of luck at the school. Morton High is a very small school with 470 students currently enrolled. Although my experience has been amazing, there are a few things I wish they could change for future students. One being the cafeteria food they provide. The food is very bland with little to no seasoning and they give us fairly small portions for it being a high school.
