Morgantown high school so far has been an amazing experience and a journey. We were voted the best school in 2017 and 2018 in West Virginia. Morgantown provides not only a friendly environment but an environment that fits every culture. I have never attended a school with as much diversity as Morgantown provides, Our teachers and staff as well. We have many school clubs and groups for these different cultures as well. Being an African American that is what I will alwyas remeber Morgantown high school for, especially in today’s society I think it is very important that everyone feels comfortable and safe in their school. The teachers are so welcoming and willing to do anything and everything for their students. The teachers provide extra help on their planning periods as well, these sessions are called “ labs”. We have math lab, writing lab, science lab and a foreign language lab.I wouldn’t want to attend any other high school!

I really have enjoyed the school with the teachers and various academic and club opportunities. Individuals in my year have been able to monopolize positions however, and the administration has been biased. The administration has changed since I first started, and it is apparent "change for the sake of change" is favored. What the administration wants to update and with the favoritism towards band, somethings that need some monetary aid are forgotten. There are several reasons why Morgantown High School is the number one high school in the state with the teachers, academics, and support. Overall, I would not want to be a student elsewhere!
The teachers are usually very supportive over all and the classes are helpful. A big problem is that the sports are usually valued over academics and art programs. Thousands of dollars were spent on tearing down a perfectly good press box for our stadium and building a new weight room, yet our auditorium has been disfunctional for years. Out of my four years at this highschool, the auditorium has had broken seats, broken lighting equipment, and is never cleaned by the custodians.
