From Morgan Park Academy

Founded in 1873, Morgan Park Academy is driven by a mission to engage the whole child, inspire the independent learner, and prepare the global leader of tomorrow to make a positive difference in the world.

Class sizes are intentionally kept small so that students can speak up and stand out, developing genuine relationships with teachers that foster achievement and create a sense of community.

MPA students broaden and deepen their thinking beyond the boundaries of campus, city, and country, emerging as confident young adults, original thinkers, and creative problem solvers. They progress into the next stages of their lives well-prepared for advanced college coursework and poised to meet and exceed the high expectations that they refined at MPA.

Preparing Global Leaders to Make a Difference

From preschool to senior year, we show our students the world, integrating a perspective-widening, global focus throughout the MPA experience. Scores of students travel abroad each year, and on campus, we interpret events and ideas in their larger, global context, challenging students of all ages to step outside their comfort zones and their zip codes.

The Morgan Park Academy community is one that any student would feel more than comfortable being in. I began my journey at MPA my freshman year and my biggest concern was "fitting in" as I thought that I would be at a disadvantage since some of my classmates would have already known each other from middle school. I couldn't have been more wrong. Not only was the faculty inviting but the students were so welcoming and made my transition into a new environment seamless. It didn't take long at all to call the school a second home as I immediately made friendships and built connections with my teachers. If I were to choose one thing that I love about MPA the most, it would probably be the classes. Class sizes are small and teachers make an effort to make their classrooms and curriculum appealing to the students. Comfortable seating, essential oil diffusers, candy jars, Smartboards...the lengths that the faculty goes for the students to actually want to be in a classroom is remarkable!

I’ve been an MPA student since I was in kindergarten, and every year it’s been one filled with excitement, exploration, and growth. The connections I’ve made with my peers, faculty, and administration has contributed to my overall academic experience; Morgan Park Academy excels in being an environment where any student can flourish and be supported by the entire school community!
Morgan Park Academy is truly a special place. Our family loves it here. My two sons are in the Lower School and are thriving with the small class sizes, the diverse make up of students. They benefit from daily PE classes, daily outdoor recess on 20 acres of green space and play structures, daily world language classes (French, Mandarin, and Spanish taught on rotating trimesters), 3 art/music specialties weekly, tech/programming/coding/STEM in the newly renovated "Makerspace." We've been here for 5 years now and can't imagine a better environment for them.
