The school's guidance counselor, Veronica Morales, is so helpful to each and every student in Morenci High School. She has been extremely helpful to my own senior year. She discusses scholarships and helps to correlate seniors to different colleges that they might find interest in. She has also helped me (and many other students) to sign up for free Eastern Arizona College classes, that are offered to our high-school students, which can perfectly be matched to their career dream(s). This affects both students and parents: students can start to build their future while still in high school and parents do not have to pay for this awesome college head-start!

At my school, bullying involves more than just the person being bullied. The school administration does everything in their power to eliminate bullying as much as they can--I think they have done a excellent job too! They provide all of the students with multiple bullying assemblies, most with speakers who have traveled to share their own bullying experiences. This positively affects the students and their parents at Morenci High School, I have hardly seen any type of bullying in the many years that I have attended this high school.

The things I liked most about Morenci High School are its small class sizes and overall small town atmosphere. Everyone knows everyone and it feels like people are never left out. In a school of about four hundred people it is very easy to make friends and get to know one another. The thing I would change would have to be to make things more strict on the upperclassmen spectrum. Upperclassmen get away with a lot more than underclassmen and I would just like to make it more fair.
The academics offered at Morenci High School are great! Students have the advantage of completing college credits from Eastern Arizona College for free. The high school pays for you to take college classes, even ones that will be useful to your future career in life. The teachers at this high school are very understanding and will make sure you understand the material before they move on with the next lesson. We even have these tests known as "formatives" that measure the students knowledge of the topic. If the student does not pass the formative, they can be put in a special study option that helps them to understand the topic before they re-take the test!
