Montwood High School is an incredible high school that offers many opportunities to its student body, it offers clubs, athletics, there's something to fit every students' personality. The school offers College Placement classes, Advanced Placement classes, and the teachers and administration are very understanding when it comes down to their students taking the rigorous classes. The administration along with the counseling department at Montwood High School is very constant with reminding the students of the opportunities and the resources the district alongside the school provides for them to be able to reach their full potential. Montwood High School is overall an outstanding school to attend to, and I've had such a great past three years attending this school.

I believe Montwood has some faculty and administration, but the problems root from the school district in charge of them: Socorro Independent School District. One day when there was a school shooting threat, students were "protected" by the law club. Yet when students wanted to advocate for themselves and planned a peaceful protest to bring awareness to recent school shootings, students were threatened with not walking at graduation and police surveillance parked outside of the school. The district only cares about student safety and feedback when it is convenient for them. Rather than buy new resources for schools or laptops for the senior class (the ONLY class without laptops much needed for school work), the district printed t-shirts labeled, "Team SISD" for every single student in the whole district.
Montwood High School has been a great school for a number of reasons. I liked that Montwood offered a lot of different clubs or events to get students more involved with their school and the community. Montwood also gives students different clubs and organizations to be involved in that comply with many interests, whether it be academic, sports, or recreational. Most teachers at this institution are kind and willing to help their students if they are having difficulty with understanding the subject at hand. Not only that but most instructors also encourage students to attend tutoring sessions if necessary. Administration from Montwood High School can be very strict at times, however, they are the ones responsible for organizing Montwood's events to get students more involved and to make them better students. Overall, Montwood High School offers so many to the students in attendance and encourages them to reach their full potential to ready them for life after high school.
