From Montrose School

The Montrose experience empowers students to navigate challenges & seize opportunities--in the classroom, in the boardroom, & in life. Founded by parents in 1979, Montrose is an independent school for girls in grades 6-12, inspired by the teachings of the Catholic Church. We are resilient Mavericks, leading with vision and grace; we help young women become forces for good in the world. Every aspect of school life nurtures the education of the whole person.

Head of School Mrs. Katie Elrod often reminds students, “You are unique, unrepeatable & called by God to greatness. You are here for a purpose.” Through scholarship, service, & mentoring, Mavericks develop the habits of mind, heart, & character needed to direct their lives with purposeful wisdom.

From Dante to design thinking, our rich liberal arts curriculum & first-rate faculty prepare students to flourish at top colleges. As a National School of Character, our LifeCompass character & leadership program is an exemplar worldwide.
