I love the staff; they genuinely have the students best interest at heart! The school can be sort of nit-picky about certain rules revolving around the dress code but other than that, it is great! They do their best at providing a catholic education while simultaneously welcoming all christians and educating them on the differences. Honestly best school on Vaughn Road.
One of the primary reasons we retired in Montgomery! So hard to find authentically Catholic schools and at a reasonable price - we know, we've lived in nine different states. The heart and soul of a Catholic school should be it's theology department, otherwise it is no different than any other school. MCPS's theology department is rock solid! Beyond the faith, academically and athletically/band the school is strong & vibrant. All 5 of our kids have attended MCPS, two are still there, the other three have graduated.
Montgomery Catholic has a diverse community in every sense of the word. It is one of the many things that made us decide to enroll our kids in the school. The student body and faculty are made up of people from a variety of faiths, backgrounds, types and sizes so the school reflects the greater community in which we live. This is important to us and is what makes Montgomery Catholic different from many of the other private schools in the River Region. As a non-Catholic family, I was initially concerned about the idea of my kids attending a Catholic school. It didn't take long to see that faith is the underlying foundation woven into academics and extra-curricular activities resulting in the education of the whole child. The school works hard to develop strong academics but it also works hard to build kids of good character, integrity, compassion and respect. I have no doubt my kids will be well-prepared with a strong academic foundation and the foundations of faith and character.
