Welcome to the Montessori School of Denver website! I am thrilled that you have chosen to learn more about our wonderful school and hope that you enjoy exploring what is contained within these pages and come see us in person. We are proud of our local (Association of Colorado Independent Schools) and national (American Montessori Society) recognition and accreditations as an outstanding Montessori and independent educational institution for Toddler through Eighth grade. This year, with over 340 students and 70 faculty and staff members, we celebrate our 56th birthday as the oldest Montessori school in Denver and as the reputation of Montessori education continues to flourish, there has never been a better time to celebrate our Montessori past and respect our present while also creating MSD’s future together.

After moving my family from the San Francisco Bay Area to Denver, I am extremely grateful to have found MSD. All three of my children currently attend the school (Primary, Elementary, and Middle School) and each are thriving in their own way. The kids' collective opinion is that MSD is a very special place - a school like no other. I agree! With past experience in both private and public schools, what stands out to me about MSD is the love and dedication teachers give to each student and family. Rooted in the philosophy of Montessori, my kids are being prepared to navigate the future world. They have daily opportunities to build their independence, confidence, creativity, and collaboration skills. Most importantly, they are safe, happy, and love going to school each day. We love MSD and highly recommend it!

It is hard to put into words how impactful MSD has been for our children and for us as their parents. It is a joy to see our children bounce out of our car each morning eager to go to school. Our kids are excited to share what they've viewed from microscopes, how they’ve stretched timelines of the world across their classrooms and out doorways. We’ve heard about individual lessons on multiplication and proper nouns and their goals for what they would like to achieve academically both tomorrow and by the end of the year. We’ve heard how our children are navigating social relationships using strategies they’ve been explicitly taught by their teachers. They’ve expressed sadness as 1st graders at the thought of having to one day leave MSD when they graduate 8th grade. What more could we want for our kids than a school that makes them feel known, supported, cared for, and challenged as individual learners?

Montessori School of Denver's Middle School is an amazing place, and we feel so lucky to have landed here. My daughter attended a different school for elementary and her transition to MSD has been smooth, even during Covid. The school has made health and safety a top priority and they have been in-person for nearly the whole school year. The student to teacher ratio is great, which I think is really something other middle schools lack. Middle School can be a tough time in a child's life and MSD goes out of its way to put together a plan that works for each student and the type of learner they are. The school has made Equity and Inclusion a top priority and it really shows in the curriculum my child is studying and the activities they prioritize. Highly recommend!
