Montessori School of Celebration Reviews

3 reviews
For those who have the education to know what the Montessori teaching method consists of, they know that it is based on following the child. "Following the child" does not mean "letting the child do what they want". In a Montessori environment, freedom implies that children can follow their internal impulse and participate in the work necessary for their self-development. Allowing this freedom is "love with respect to the child's own internal signals." All this makes children independent and capable of creating by themselves. This base will help them for life. My daughter is in this school and I honestly don't think there is a better one for our children in all of Florida. Maybe I exaggerate, but I have not seen. Not only because of the methodology, but because of the love and respect that I see in the teachers towards the children, and the way they teach them peace. 100% recommended. I still in love with this school. Parents can participate a lot in their activities. I love it!

I have had nothing but good things to say about the teachers and the school overall. My son loves his teacher Mrs. Geiger. It has been amazing to see how much he had developed since being in her classroom. He goes to school with a big smile on his face and comes back excited to tell me how his day went, that never happened at the other Montessori school, I won't mention there name though it was also in celebration. This has been worth every penny to see the drastic educational improvement as well as happiness in my son daily.
Most of the teachers, including the Director, do not supervise children enough to ensure they are working in all of the different academic areas. Children are permitted to do what they prefer at the cost of core skills like reading, writing, and higher level math. My child had a short term medical issue that caused some behavioral issues. Even though the teacher and I had agreed on a plan to manage the behavior, the teacher rarely implemented the plan. Finally my son, who always loved school, cried not to go because the teachers kept telling him over and over he wasn't listening, and he felt that he was just a bad kid for that reason. Also I saw my child wet himself one day because the teacher would not let him get up from circle to go to the bathroom.
