I went to MHS for a year. My year there was the first year of a new principal. The school year began with ~25 students, however around 10 left at Christmas break, leaving us with 16 and a graduating class of 1. The only 2 extracurriculars we offered were an indoor soccer “team” and an art club.
The academics were mediocre at best, with no AP or honors classes offered.
Politically, the school leans extremely leftwards and many conservatives would be humiliated. Multiple teachers protested conservatism and Christianity, by making their classrooms “men’s rights advocate free zones” or by stating that our world would be more advanced and better if Christianity never existed.
In conclusion, it has been 2 years since I left the school. A completely new staff and a nearly new student body is in the school, so I can’t speak to the current state of the school, however I had a first person view to the trainwreck that was the school in the year of 2017-2018

Warm and inviting setting for learning and teaching with a renewed dedication to interdisciplinary and integrative curriculum and focus on the whole child. Montessori education at the secondary level is unique and growing around the nation, and the board, administration, faculty, and students and their families are devoted to sustaining and growing a school that will continue to serve the Central Kentucky area in the tradition established by Maria Montessori for years to come.
Thankfully the school is back to the wonderful place it was before. Can't recommend it enough! The new Admin is wonderful and the staff and parents are great!
