I love that Monte Vista has amazing academics, facilities, activities and clubs, and so much more! Although the environment can be quite competitive at times and it’s hard not to compare oneself to other successful students, I definitely love this school and being involved with it’s activities.

I truly believe that Monte Vista High School is an excellent school in preparation for college and the real world beyond. A majority of the teachers care about their students and are there to teach (rather than to make money). One thing I would like to see change is the diversity of the school and our acceptance of minority groups. Currently the atmosphere at school can be rather oppressive to black and LGBTQ+ students but we are taking steps to change this through acceptance programs such as Breaking Down the Walls. This also addresses another pro of the school, it notices and attempts to address its problems outside of the classroom.
I have found myself very pleased with my experience at Monte Vista High School. I realize that every teacher I had my entire four years has proven to be supportive, motivating, and always have the best intentions. MVHS has given my peers and me a sense of home where we are all allowed to find ourselves, our passions, and how to approach our futures. We are heard and seen by each other being a part of the mustang community. Overall, I feel prepared to go off to the college I am committed to academically, socially, and athletically.
