Monte Vista is a great high school and provides an excellent education. I graduated "the last AP" class so after 2022 the school is totally IB, which indicates a lot of potentials.
Since becoming an IB certified school, Monte Vista’s attitude towards college prep has been more streamlined. Academics wise, the school excels in the fields of Science and Math, with the choices being diverse and being available not only for students of all levels and skill sets, but at the same time push those same students, and challenge them to do even beyond what they think is their “best”. Backed by faculty and administrators who continuously show care and consideration for each and every student, one would never find themselves “unheard” at a school like Monte Vista.
I started at Monte Vista Christian in 6th grade and it is so bad now. Before I started everyone said the food was amazing and they where focused on the best learning environment. I just graduated and I can say all of that is pretty much gone. Grades don’t matter anymore, they have just changed their grading system and homework doesn’t matter, all that matters are test and projects. To make matters worse if you miss three or more non graded homework assignments you have to stay after school on Fridays to finish them. Why is it I have to do an assignment that means nothing for my grade? Why am I getting punished for missing assignments when I graduated with A’s and B’s. I told my parents not to send my younger brother there I haven’t learned anything this year or last. Th teachers are hired based off of their religious beliefs not their teaching skill. I swear they fined anyone who is a Christian and let them teach whatever. It’s so bad
The faculty, staff, and admin team are exceptional not only as experts in their field, but as a group that truly strives to make the learning experience unforgettable for all learners. The volume of creatively crafted lessons is as astonishing as it is inspiring. As a veteran faculty member - and someone who has been through tremendous changes and challenges at MVC over the years - it is an incredible place to work.
Monte Vista Christian has a beautiful campus. I have gone there since 6th grade and my siblings are alums. I loved my experience attending Monte Vista Christian and encourage others to go there as well.
Monte Vista Christian is an amazing high school where the students are able to be challenged and allowed to explore their interests at an early age. Monte Vista truly prepares their students for the real world and to be prepared for their next educational journal. The teachers and administration continuously help their students reach their full potential and are engaged with their students to know where they may need help or understanding throughout their years in either middle or high school. It's a very large and comfortable campus allowing students to gain new friendships and create lasting memories.
Good community, and great people. Sports options are immense and have plenty of fun activities on campus. Great staff and close environment. prettiest campus, and awesome food.
All the staff are engaging, dedicated and great! The location and campus is beautiful and the options for classes are widespread.
The only thing I would change about Monte vista is college preparation. We did not get very much help with applying to college and writing essays.
After attending MVC for 4 years, I am somewhat disappointed at the quality of education provided at Monte Vista Christian School. I will enter junior year and feel like MVC has not prepared me for the real world. They do not teach students essential skills, such as writing a cover letter, letter of interest, etc. that are needed for real world jobs. MVC does not encourage club activities; clubs are inactive and practically nonexistent. MVC does not prepare you for the SAT or ACT; they expect you to do that yourself. They lie about available courses; they cancel a bunch of courses, yet these courses still remain as options on their website. As the school turns into an IB school, the school becomes even worse and more students will leave. The school keeps spiraling downhill; rules are not enforced and juuling (vaping) is widespread. Drugs are definitely a problem here as well. Girls break the dress code and dress like strippers. Chapel attendance is not enforced. No bueno.
I'm so glad I went here for high school. Most of the teachers really care about you on a personal level and try to make your experience a good one. Some pretty big issues with admin favoritisms and teacher bias (i.e. grading you down if you don't agree with them), but I overall had a positive experience.
Love the people at Monte Vista Christian school. The teachers, staff, students, even the café staff can be extremely caring and loving toward the MVC community.
I have attended Monte Vista Christian school for 6 years, and it has been an overall positive experience. It is a smaller school, without being too small, but it still feels personal and getting to know your teachers and administration is an easy task. Monte Vista really feels like home to me, I know so many teachers and I have been with so many of these students since the beginning of middle school. Although in previous years I would have said school spirit was the worst quality, this year homecoming week was incredible and the student body was excited to be there. The school has great food and great staff that work so hard to keep the beautiful campus clean. Teachers will individually check on you, and do whatever they can to assist you in your learning process. Although it is not perfect, Monte Vista is a great place to learn and build great relationships.
They’re improving year by year. Can’t wait to see how it turns out in the future. It all takes time to build a healthy, spirited atmosphere.
The bests highschool in the world has great sports programs, food, teachers, and more!!! Also has beautiful campus that sits in the hills and football field used to be an air strip.
Our freshman has amazing teachers, especially in his honors classes. Beautiful campus improving every year. Tuition is very reasonable in comparison to other private schools. My son enjoys the food and it is very reasonable, typically $5 for lunches. He has the option of breakfast if he wakes up late and it’s always delicious. He is loving his after school sports program. I am sure there are drugs somewhere - every high school faces that challenge. However, my son has never seen it so that’s way better than most. Dress codes keep it more conservative which is great in our opinion. Homework policy has shifted and is very reasonable. I have found excellent support when my son is feeling the stress high school can bring. Literally response within the day if he’s having a hard day. Parents and students re awesome. We feel very fortunate that MVCS is in our lives.
Parent of two graduates who are now in their 30’s and are fully productive and contributing members of the global community. Teachers are outstanding.
