I would give this school another 5 to 10 years to get their IB program into shape. Some of the classes are good, but the majority of them have a terrible set up and not too many students understand the concepts being taught. My confidence at MVCS decreased heavily during the IB program, and I felt underserved with the support provided to me. Students deserve more help and more resources regarding their success in IB, not tired teachers who just give students a workbook packet and call it a day. I feel bad for all my teachers and all the students here.
It was a very good school, the teachers are amazing and really really do care for their students. The campus is beautiful, there are many amazing new opportunities that are coming to the campus such as the new theatre. There are so many great things at this school. The only reason that I gave it four stars is because the admin do seem to be more concerned about the money part of it all and the teachers are greatly underpaid, but they keep increasing tuition every year.
Hello, I am currently a senior at MVC and have attended since 6th grade. I am in the first class that graduate since IB was implemented. As someone who has been to MVC before and during IB, I can honestly say that IB has definitely decreased the quality of education offered.
The new IB classes given are not taught as well and the ones in the previous curriculum; the teachers are simply not prepared and cannot teach the subjects effectively. Because of this, they give us work with poor explanations of the content, and we barely get any sleep. I usually sleep around 4 hours even night. have use my time on the bus to catch up on sleep.
MVC advertises that IB classes will help prepare us for college better and increase our chances of being accepted into top colleges, but by looking at college admission stats for MVC, there is no significant change.
People have dropped out of IB due to mental health issues, and one person has even been hospitalized twice due to it.
Please reconsider.

This school is very mediocre. This school doesn’t help you get ready for college at all and the IB program is very underdeveloped.
I started teaching at MVC Last January as a new teacher. Ever since starting as a teacher, everyone at MVC has been so welcoming and loving. All of those in administration show much love to all their MVC family, students and teachers included. The environment at MVC is so warm and loving. MVC is a great work environment, and an amazing school for ages 6-12.
I love working in a Christ centered environment where I feel known and loved. I went to school at Monte Vista and now I am so glad to be working here!
My experience at Monte Vista has been incredibly positive. I attended middle school and high school there and now work there in the Technology department. The people are kind and caring, the campus is beautiful, and the atmosphere feels like an Ivy League college except more laid back. The academics will prepare you for college without being overwhelming hard and the other opportunities are nearly endless including many sports, theater, band, choir, robotics, ceramics, and even horsemanship. All focused on Christ centered excellence. I really can’t think of any downsides this place is amazing and if coming here is an option you should take it as you will not be disappointed.
During my four years at Monte Vista Christian School, I have been supported in my passions and welcomed into a loving community. As a student who pursues both the arts and athletics, Monte Vista funds and highlights both equally. Every teacher I have had was incredibly knowledgable in their field, and were always willing to help me whenever I was struggling. The fact that this school is faith based in Christian values (and includes required religious classes and chapels) can be seen as a negative or a positive (depending on your viewpoint). I would recommend Monte Vista to anybody who asks me about my experience. I have fully enjoyed my time at this school.
Monte Vista Christian School is one of the only academically robust programs in the area. The school is beautiful and they have a cafeteria that is better than most Colleges. I do think they need a little more flexibility in some of the required classes so that students can choose their best path. They have become too rigid on requiring certain classes that leave students with no free periods to fill as they choose. They have pretty much everything a student is going to want right there on campus, including horsemanship which my daughter wanted. My son enjoyed his advanced math and science classes, as well as the engineering room. The music program is really good and constantly adjusts to the students. Their production of Beauty and the Beast was on par with a semi professional production.
A place where you see smiling faces the moment you step on the beautiful campus and as you move throughout your day, you are challenged and encouraged by both students and faculty members. Truly a great place to learn to grow and lead!
Monte Vista is a great high school and provides an excellent education. I graduated "the last AP" class so after 2022 the school is totally IB, which indicates a lot of potentials.
Since becoming an IB certified school, Monte Vista’s attitude towards college prep has been more streamlined. Academics wise, the school excels in the fields of Science and Math, with the choices being diverse and being available not only for students of all levels and skill sets, but at the same time push those same students, and challenge them to do even beyond what they think is their “best”. Backed by faculty and administrators who continuously show care and consideration for each and every student, one would never find themselves “unheard” at a school like Monte Vista.
I started at Monte Vista Christian in 6th grade and it is so bad now. Before I started everyone said the food was amazing and they where focused on the best learning environment. I just graduated and I can say all of that is pretty much gone. Grades don’t matter anymore, they have just changed their grading system and homework doesn’t matter, all that matters are test and projects. To make matters worse if you miss three or more non graded homework assignments you have to stay after school on Fridays to finish them. Why is it I have to do an assignment that means nothing for my grade? Why am I getting punished for missing assignments when I graduated with A’s and B’s. I told my parents not to send my younger brother there I haven’t learned anything this year or last. Th teachers are hired based off of their religious beliefs not their teaching skill. I swear they fined anyone who is a Christian and let them teach whatever. It’s so bad
We had an amazing headmaster when I first started at Monte Vista and he was very proactive in making our school ahead of its time with the use of one-to-one technology. I considered it cutting-edge. In terms of the academics, the classes were very rigorous and I feel that I was very prepared for the university experience. Athletically, I cannot complain because my baseball coach was very good and he helped me get to my dream school.
Monte Vista Christian is an amazing high school where the students are able to be challenged and allowed to explore their interests at an early age. Monte Vista truly prepares their students for the real world and to be prepared for their next educational journal. The teachers and administration continuously help their students reach their full potential and are engaged with their students to know where they may need help or understanding throughout their years in either middle or high school. It's a very large and comfortable campus allowing students to gain new friendships and create lasting memories.
Good community, and great people. Sports options are immense and have plenty of fun activities on campus. Great staff and close environment. prettiest campus, and awesome food.
All the staff are engaging, dedicated and great! The location and campus is beautiful and the options for classes are widespread.
