Monte Vista Christian was an amazing high school attend. From the beautiful campus to the modern technology, this high school experience is much different than many others. Having approximately 14-1 student to teacher rations per classroom gives students the opportunity to voice opinions and ideas, creating a very inclusive environment within the classroom. The administration and staff know the students by name which gives the campus a very warm and inviting feeling.
Additionally, from Friday Night Lights to Horse Shows to Theatre Performances, Monte Vista offers many clubs and activities for students to grow close with one another. Monte Vista offers on campus living, where about 60% of the student body from various countries live to receive the education that Monte Vista offers.
Oh, and the food is a bonus!

After attending MVC for 4 years, I am somewhat disappointed at the quality of education provided at Monte Vista Christian School. I will enter junior year and feel like MVC has not prepared me for the real world. They do not teach students essential skills, such as writing a cover letter, letter of interest, etc. that are needed for real world jobs. MVC does not encourage club activities; clubs are inactive and practically nonexistent. MVC does not prepare you for the SAT or ACT; they expect you to do that yourself. They lie about available courses; they cancel a bunch of courses, yet these courses still remain as options on their website. As the school turns into an IB school, the school becomes even worse and more students will leave. The school keeps spiraling downhill; rules are not enforced and juuling (vaping) is widespread. Drugs are definitely a problem here as well. Girls break the dress code and dress like strippers. Chapel attendance is not enforced. No bueno.
I attended the school since 7th grade and graduated last year (2020). The school was led by an amazing headmaster and then he retired. It seems like things changed dramatically in the sense that the operations of the school became very regimented. In terms of diversity, the school is not very diverse. There are two main ethnicities: White and Asian. I was only a handful of Latino students on the campus. The sports program was definitely a highlight, especially baseball. In terms of college readiness, the academics at the school were very challenging. However, being in my first year in college, I feel that my school did a great job in preparing me for college as my classes are totally doable.
