I attended public school until 7th grade. Middle school is the worst, lots of drama. Students just don't want to listen and do whatever else except their school academics. My mom checked into an alternative school and found Monte del Sol Charter School. I had to apply through a lottery and did get selected. I have been there since my 8th grade and I absolutely love it. I do have a learning disability so going into a smaller school environment was what I needed to succeed. I am now a senior and about to graduate. I recommend Montel Del Sol Charter School to those students who have difficulty learning because of the issues in a regular public school.

Monte Del Sol is a tiny charter school that doesn’t have very much funding or top of the line academic programs. But what is does have is an amazing group of people and an inspiring mission. It promotes community, diversity, and agency within the school. Monte Del Sol has taught me which things I should value most in life and despite its shortcomings on the outside, I am super greatful I went there.
Monte del sol goal is being a community and a family. The teachers aren't just teachers but they treat us like close friends. We also have a thing called the mentorship program where you choose something that you're passionate about and they find someone in the community that does that and they mentor you for the school year.
