As a Catholic High School, it is expected to have to wear a uniform. The principal, assistant principal, and deans are very strict about the way you are dressed. Men must be clean shaven, no earrings, covered up tattoos, and must have a neat looking uniform. Women, on the other hand, are expected to follow the dress code (uniform) and cannot wear hoop earrings, and must not die their hair any colors that aren't natural. Penalties for not following the dress code include detention and being sent home. If repeated many times, privileges such as dress downs and pep rally are taken away. In addition to the dress code, Monsignor Scanlan High School has absolutely no tolerance for bullying. If bullying is found out, the student bullying will be suspended with a parental meeting or expelled. This also includes cyber-bullying of students and of teachers. Students are often reported to the higher staff when found talking badly of a teacher through Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram. Solid policy!
