Most students are apathetic about school, resulting in an extremely difficult social environment where it's tedious to find genuine friends. As such, many students enter bright and passionate and leave demotivated and without the good personality traits they had before. In addition, I feel that they should go further with supporting extracurricular academics to encourage motivated students to pursue their interests beyond what's in class by creating opportunities like taking part in AMC and MATHCOUNTS in math, writing contests, debate, Geo Bee, History Bee and Science Olympiad. If they establish and properly support such interest groups, it will not only help students academically, but will also spark a positive social change where every student has an easier time finding a place socially.
I found the teachers to be pretty good quality when I was at M-W Middle School. Middle School at Monroe-Woodbury seemed to feel structured, secure, and the students were contained for the most part and not able to get out of control. I can't say the same about the High School though. However, some of my best, more practical classes, like Home Economics, Typing, and Tech were taken at Monroe Woodbury M.S. as well as excellent X Country and Track programs.
Overall I have had a very positive and rewarding experience at Monroe Woodbury Middle School. They may have a large population there but they have many opportunities to have an enriching experience. They are known in the county for their commitment to music and they have a large sports community. There are 2 lunch lines for hot food, a build your own sandwich line and a salad bar line. They gave me opportunities to give back my time to my community through peer tutoring and volunteering opportunities.
