As an alumnus of MMS, I can tell you that this school is amazing. The teachers care about students and are very knowledgeable, and extremely violent fights rarely occur. The orchestra program is fun and resourceful, according to my experience in this elective for the past 2 years. This school seems to value diversity and encourages students to be their own unique selves. I really appreciate my experience at MMS!
This school is pretty non-inclusive, and military brats are not generally considered welcome. Food is the only reason it got two stars instead of one. The teachers play favorites and could care less about personal matters. Very poor experience, overall.
Some teachers are available a lot and follows-up and follows through with what the expect from their parents especially their students. They need to improve my being more consistent with communication and following through with their students let alone parents especially when their student is struggling.

The faculty and staff were all very supportive of student learning. Each instructor worked with us individually to make sure we were proficient in each subject. Moanalua Middle School also had a diverse range of classes that fit into each of our needs. For example, we had hula class, guitar class, chorus class, orchestra class, band class, art class, shop class as well as the core classes.
As an alumnus of MMS, I can attest that this is one of the best middle schools in the state of Hawaii. Moanalua is greatly supported by local leaders, the community, parents, staff, and its students.

Students here are overall very driven to succeed in their studies and extra-curricular activities, and the music program is highly regarded in the community. Moanalua also has great teachers who prepare their students for high school. The level of difficulty of their classes is reasonably difficult, but this helped me grow as a student and as a young adult. Thanks to my experience at Moanalua, I'll be graduating Moanalua High School in 2018 ready for college and my future!
