I have had an excellent experience attending the Mitchell High School for the past three years. The teachers are helpful, and they are always available for answering questions. The administration is also great because they evaluate situations entirely before they make critical decisions. The opportunities the school provides is also amazing. I have excelled taking on campus dual credit classes at Dakota Wesleyan University and my high school provides dual credit classes on their campus with high school teachers as well. They also provide online dual credits for a less expensive option. The technology, organizations, and extracurricular activities are outstanding because they connect the students together in amazing ways. However, I wish we had more options. I also wish my school would have more diversity. However, we do welcome foreign exchange students and immigrant students almost every year. My only wish is that I could meet more people of different cultures.

I though that the teachers employed at Mitchell High School, for the most part, were extremely caring and good at teaching. I was involved in debate throughout high school and thought they had a great program set up for students. I also thought the art department was very good and influential, which helped me to go on to college for graphic design.
One thing i would change about this high school is the lack of education you get on college, living alone, or anything past high school. I think its debatable whether or not that type of information is the schools job to provide, but i do think it would be really beneficial for all high schools to have a class that prepares you for such huge change. One thing that I've seen a lot in college is Freshman students not doing as well in classes because they are having a hard time adjusting to the change. Having some way of preparing for this would help a lot!
I have had the privilege of working with talented students and teachers, although many would say otherwise. I've went from no honors to an honors class and continue to improve thanks to teachers and staff. The principal and vice principal both adore the students and help us to succeed. The homework can be a little much at times but the teachers give it their all consistently and work hard to make school enjoyable. I'm proud to be a student of Mitchell High School, our academics are even more challenging, but I know I'll be prepared for life because of them. The teachers also help students by providing resources for those who don't or can't afford it. I can truly tell everyone involved is passionate about their work and their students.
