During my time as a student at Mission Viejo High School, I found and experienced many good things. The school is one of the few institutions that offers courses in the international baccalaureate (IB) program. As a student who was fully enrolled and committed to this program, I can confidently say that it does prepare students for college. So, as long as you are taking full advantage of the opportunities that the school is giving to you as a student, you will find the workload in college manageable. Furthermore, the leaders who guide the program are an additional bonus. Many instructors working both inside and outside the program are provide helpful resources and guidance. While there are many good things about this school in terms of the educational aspect, there are also a few things that could be improved on. Things such as choice of counselors, academic advisor availability, and etc. Despite these things, I would highly recommend attending this high school!
I love Mission Viejo highschool. The academics are great and they offer a broad amount of AP and honor level classes. They also offer an Agriculture class where you are able to raise your own animal in a farm, and is the only school in the district to do so! Mission Viejo Highschool is division 1 in almost all their sports, and get celebrities like snoop dog attending their football games. Not to mention, the campus is beautiful and the teachers are great at their job. Mission Viejo Highschool students are VERY likely to succeed during Highschool and after graduation.
I transferred to Mission Viejo High School for my senior year. I really enjoyed my teachers. They were very commited to helping each student achieve their individual academic goals. The school also had an exceptional athletics program, with a variety of sports. It was fun to attend different sport games and theater performances. There was almost 2,000 students and a huge variety of clubs, so student involvement was high. There was a 1:1 student to chrome book ratio and a library with computers so there were always resources available. However, the guidance counselors and technicians were not very interested in most of the students. Overall, I had a really great experience at Mission Viejo High School.
