Throughout my years attending Mission Valley High School, I have enjoyed having such a tight-knit community. You know who everyone is and you see them everyday, which makes it easy to form strong personal relations. Some things that I would like to see change in my school is the treatment of teachers. One example would be my History teacher being threatened with suspension because her room was too relaxing, although the entire student body agrees that just because it is comfortable it does not make the work we do easy. We actually appreciate having a safe work environment. Overall, my experience at Mission Valley High School could have been better, but I am grateful for the people I have met.

Mission Valley is a small school in rural Kansas between the communities of Dover, Eskridge, and Harveyville. One of the great aspects about Mission Valley is that there is a sense of family, community and unity. Even though students and staff come from all three towns, everyone is welcomed warmly and a part of Mission Valley. Along with the small school feature, however, comes a lot of gossip and rumors. The school, also being in the middle of a cow pasture, is a more distant than usual travel for the students. The connection between students, staff, and administration is outstanding. Mission Valley is a great school for those who like a community feel and want more personal relationships.
MV is a mixed bag.

Understand this one if the lowest, if not the lowest, paying school districts in the state.

Majority of the teachers do NOT live in district. Meaning the citizens pay the salaries and most of that money goes to be spent out of county and lack of roots withbcommunity

Disability issues are not properly addressed and a few yrs ago a Office of Civil Rights complaint was filed with something like a 15 Plus page Outcome report.

The sports program are a highlight. FFA is excellent. Music department needs more $$$ but is another positive. Both teachers are keepers
Baseball and softball fields badly need attention. In spite of field handy cap programs have had successes.

Long established teachers have actually driven students away and engaged in bully behaviors. Slowly improving

Nice parking for high school students.

Lunch’s of poor taste.

Not enough focus on bullying.
