Mission High School is an incredibly accepting community and will push you to succeed. It is a place where disadvantaged youth come together to empower one another and critically analyze the world around them. You are taught to reach across all barriers (cultural, ethnic, linguistic, religious or economic) to collaborate with your peers and realize your own potential.
My experience at Mission High was good. I enjoy the teachers there very helpful and guide you to a different resource around the school and outside as well
Mission was not my first choice when I applied to high school, but I would not have gone any where else in the end. Mission has provided me with tools and experiences I will take into my adulthood. I have learned how to interact with my peers across difference and straightened my academic and social skills. Mission high school does not have a ton of resources but it always makes the most of them while always keeping the student's best interest at heart.
Originally transferred to MHS was because it was close to home and no transportation was needed. I’ve spent 3 years attending the school and it was an amazing experience. Many educators really care about their students and offer resources to support them. Student led activities throughout the years and is inclusive to everyone. Many students want to help each other out as family. The environment of the school is warm although it may have some bad days. At the end of the school day, it becomes a home away from home for many students as it was for me. I’m glad I got the opportunity to be able to attend. Thank you!
My experience at Mission High School has been amazing. Mission offers a lot of resources in which it helps students to get to college. There are many teachers who help students and support them a lot. The College Center was my favorite place to go because the staff there gave me a lot of help in my college application, PIQ's, scholarships, etc...
Being able to attend such a diverse and accepting high school like Mission High, I've been able to broaden and open up my own perspectives and ideas on life and how that affects my school community both in and outside of the classroom.
Well since I've been going there all four years I've definitely experienced a lot. the good and the bad. The academics is great and so are the teachers. They can improve a bit better on college preparation but all in all the school is great.
The school has its perks but its also good in its on way. Just because a school isn't like other schools that are more known for their good things doesn't mean your school is horrible. My school was the one to actually show me that I can go to college and can get help even when I graduate. My school has taught me all the leadership and confidence I need in life. My school also taught me that its okay to have diversty because that makes the experience better and you could learn a lot more from the different students and staff at school
I gave it 4 stars because even though mission high school is known as the school were people shouldn't sign their kids up, it should actually be the opposite. Mission high actually helped me signed up for schools that I myself didn't even know that I could get into them. Mission High also helped me and prepared my for my SATs during my junior and senior year and i believe that I got better at them. There were also programs that i didn't know about that my school would announce that could help seniors in college and after for their future. Also mission helped us with finding scholarships, signing up for colleges on time, and also finishing our FASA on time
During my time here at Mission, it has been a very good experience because of the system they have here. The system they have of helpers and teachers really validate my learning since they have really good teachers/helpers to help students especially me with any confusion and they have really good IEP system to help people like myself with learning disabilities. But, something I would change is that the janitors should really clean the hallways especially the stairways since in the mornings and afternoons I see food in the corners or on the stairs. I would also have more stricter system with students fighting especially outside of school. But, in all Mission is a really good school.
My overall experience at Mission has shown me that there's a lot of support programs catered to the divers population. Both staff and teachers constantly check in on my academic performance and keep track of my grades. The teachers always advocate for their students and the counselors make each student feel important. I enjoy going to Mission high because it's different from the rest or the schools in San Francisco, it has a large Latinx population with tons of support for the community.
My experience with Mission High School has been great for all the years I've attended. The best part about this school is the diversity. The staff, teachers, and counselors are all very caring and they go out of their way to make sure that students succeed in their classes. We even have our own class dedicated to prepare students for applying to college. Overall, I love this school because everyone is like a family.
Everyone is very welcoming and the diversity is amazing to see everyday. teachers would translate from English to Spanish
Dirty and old facilities. Needs everything up-dated and more modern technology available to everyone:
Mission was a very family orientated school. The school was very warm and welcoming. My time at Mission was very well spent. The teachers and faculty there are very warmed hearted and kind. There is nothing about the school I would change. The overall academics for everyone is on a different level of understanding and Is very approachable for all. The school as a whole is awesome.
My experience at mission high school has been very good. What I like about the school which is going to be my third year at is that if you need help with something you have places to go to ask for help. I also feel the support of my teacher that creates a good relationship which helps me with my studies. The teachers I’ve had have also taught in ways that I could understand and even if I didn’t clearly understand as go through my clases my confusion becomes clear.
I went to this high school. This school is very diverse and I can tell you that the school principal is very positive and supportive of any kinds of events and assembly. For example, We will have LGBTQ assembly with a lot of the teacher dress up not their gender's clothing...etc. We also have those very nice securities to make school more like a family. Because our school is very diverse, and the environment we are surrounding, students are very likely to speak and join clubs and sport team. Our school has a cal state championship on boys basketball.
